About the Brant Music Festival

In the summer of 2017, a group of concerned musicians met in response to the news that the Brantford Kiwanis Music Festival, a cultural icon for the area, would no longer exist. With the help of the community and others who believe in the festival system, the Brant Music Festival was formed as a not-for-profit charity organization to carry on the over 70 year old tradition.

The mission of the Brant Music Festival is to promote engagement, education, and excellence in music and the performing arts through an annual adjudicated festival. We strive to develop well-rounded individuals who will give their gifts back to the community, ensuring that the arts will flourish.

The festival is co-sponsored by the Brantford Branch of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association and is supported by generous donations from our community. Scholarships and trophies are awarded for each discipline at our annual “Stars of the Festival” concert.

The Brant Music Festival is managed by an executive committee through the efforts of the following individuals:

Naomi Wratten, President (Chair and Piano Discipline)
Amy Hall, Secretary
Scott Chapin, Treasurer
Charlie Henderson, Member (Brass and Woodwind Discipline)
Katie Walshaw, Member (Choir and Band, Voice and Musical Theatre Disciplines)
Jennifer Canning, Member (Strings Discipline)
Frank Eigler, Member
Angie Esders, Member
Lynn Haylock, Member

We also acknowledge our many additional volunteers, who help to make each year a success!
