About the Brant Music Festival

Background

In the summer of 2017, a group of musicians met in response to the news that the Brantford Kiwanis Music Festival, a cultural icon for the area, would no longer exist. With the help of the community and others who believe in the festival system, the Brant Music Festival was formed as a not-for-profit charity organization to carry on the over 70 year old tradition.

The mission of the Brant Music Festival is to promote engagement, education, and excellence in music and the performing arts through an annual adjudicated festival. We strive to develop well-rounded individuals who will give their gifts back to the community, therefore ensuring that the arts will flourish.

The festival is co-sponsored by the Brantford branch of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association and is also supported by generous donations from our community. Scholarships and trophies are awarded for each discipline at our annual “Stars of the Festival” concert.
